First case of dengue of the year confirmed in Los Cabos

The state Health Secretariat confirmed the first case of dengue fever of the 2025 season. Authorities are urging increased preventive measures such as eliminating mosquito breeding sites and seeking medical attention if symptoms appear.
In the first 14 weeks of 2025, Baja California Sur recorded 21 confirmed cases of dengue, lower than the 231 cases reported in the same period last year. This is according to data from the Special Epidemiological Surveillance System of the Mexican Ministry of Health.
Of the 21 cases reported this year, 13 are severe forms of the disease: dengue with warning signs or severe dengue. By municipality, Los Cabos has 12 cases of dengue, La Paz has seven, and Comondú has two.
