With an unemployment rate of 1.9% and one of the lowest informal employment rates in Mexico, the state stands out for its labor policies and training programs.

In the first four years of Governor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío's administration, the Baja California Sur government has facilitated the formal employment of more than 20,000 people, according to Vladimir Torres Navarro, state director of the National Employment Service (SNE).
This achievement is attributed to a comprehensive strategy that includes connecting businesses with job seekers, training programs, and self-employment support. Furthermore, minimum wage increases have contributed to improving the purchasing power of workers in the state.
Baja California Sur ranks as one of the states with the lowest informal employment rate, with a rate of 37.6%, and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, at 1.9%.
The SNE has also promoted entrepreneurship programs, training more than 300 people and supporting the creation of 89 microenterprises by 2024.
These actions have consolidated Baja California Sur's position as a benchmark for effective labor policies, promoting the region's economic and social development.
