They argue that BCS, due to its geographic location and high levels of solar radiation, is ideal to become a national benchmark in distributed solar energy generation.

Baja California Sur legislators called on the federal government to include the state in the program for providing residential photovoltaic systems, especially in rural areas.

This request seeks to address high electricity rates and reduce the impact of high temperatures on Southern California homes.

They argue that BCS, due to its geographic location and high levels of solar radiation, is ideal to become a national benchmark in distributed solar energy generation.

The request also seeks to consider the use of solar panels as part of a comprehensive, fair energy transition strategy for the benefit of the most vulnerable families. The proposal will be forwarded to the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Electricity Commission for analysis and possible incorporation into the program.
