The “Letras de Mayo” Literary Festival celebrates culture in La Paz.

This event, framed in the 490th anniversary of the founding of La Paz , seeks to encourage reading, promote local talent and strengthen the cultural identity of the region.

La Paz, BCS. From May 28 to 30, the historic Juárez Theater will become the epicenter of literature and culture in Baja California Sur with the “Letras de Mayo” Literary Festival .

This event, part of the 490th anniversary of the founding of La Paz , seeks to promote reading, foster local talent, and strengthen the region's cultural identity.

Organized by the La Paz City Council , through the General Directorate of Inclusion and Diversity, the festival will offer a wide range of activities for all ages.

These events include book presentations, readings, literary workshops, art exhibitions, and book sales. Prominent local writers and artists will also participate, sharing their experiences and work with the audience.

On Wednesday, May 28, the festival will begin with the talk “Book Day ,” by Alejandro Moreno , and the presentation of the play “Chuitán” by Trece Plumas .

On Thursday the 29th, there will be a reading aloud of "Create Your Story" by Lic. Vanessa Gpe. Alvarado , and a presentation of the work "The Cybernetic Guru" by Frank Turón .

On Friday the 30th, the work “NanoFICCIONES Vol. I and II” by Frank Turón will be presented , and the reading aloud “Create your story” will be held , again with Lic. Vanessa Gpe. Alvarado .

The festival will also offer children's activities, such as creative writing workshops and storytelling, aimed at introducing children to the world of literature and stimulating their imaginations.

Likewise, a tribute will be paid to prominent figures in Southern Californian literature, recognizing their contributions to the region's cultural development.

Admission to all festival activities is free and open to the general public.
