Last Wednesday, May 21, the official inauguration of the State Coordination of the National Guard took place in La Paz , Baja California Sur .

The event was attended by the Secretary of National Defense, General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo , and Governor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío .

This new infrastructure seeks to strengthen the presence of security forces in the state and improve their response to situations that require it.

The complex includes a housing unit for National Guard personnel, which will allow for greater permanence and availability of personnel in the region. In addition, the installation of a communications security section, eight companies, and three security sections at strategic airport sites in the region was announced.

During the ceremony, Governor Castro Cosío emphasized that this new infrastructure strengthens the presence of the armed forces in the state, which translates into improved security outcomes.

General Trevilla Trejo , for his part, emphasized that public safety is a shared responsibility that demands a unified government response, creating a solid foundation for building a safer Mexico for present and future generations.

This inauguration is part of an unprecedented government effort, which has enabled the construction of nearly 500 National Guard facilities across the country, consolidating its permanent, operational, and strategic presence.

These actions seek to ensure greater public safety coverage for the direct benefit of the population of Baja California Sur , strengthening the corporation's operational capacity in the state and establishing robust territorial coordination.
