La Paz, BCS. In anticipation of the judicial elections scheduled for next Sunday, June 1, the municipalities of La Paz and Comondú have announced the implementation of the Prohibition Law , a measure that prohibits the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages during election day.
In La Paz, the City Council approved the suspension of alcohol sales from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1.
This restriction will apply to all establishments that sell alcoholic beverages, including convenience stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores.
However, consumption will be permitted inside restaurants, bars, and hotels with the appropriate permits, as long as it is done within the establishment.
In Comondú , the Prohibition Law will begin at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday and run until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2. During this period, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages will be prohibited in all public establishments, including shops, restaurants, and bars.
These measures aim to ensure an orderly and peaceful environment during the elections, promoting citizen participation and preventing incidents related to alcohol consumption.
Local authorities have urged the population to respect these provisions and go to the polls to exercise their right to vote.
