The municipality of Los Cabos is consolidating its position as a key center for attracting capital and investment in the Mexican Pacific, thanks to its real estate growth, air connectivity, and the creation of new platforms for legally and tax-competitive investment.

Over the past five years, the financial sector has grown steadily, driven by the opening of real estate funds, tourism trusts, private banking services, and corporate offices seeking to operate in a safe environment with a high quality of life. This has attracted the attention not only of domestic capital but also of North American and European investors who see Baja California Sur as an alternative to the traditional Cancún-Tulum circuit .

A key element in this transformation has been the collaboration between local government, notaries, public brokers, and law firms, which has facilitated the opening of trusts for foreigners and compliance with tax regulations for foreign direct investment.

The executive president of the Los Cabos Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI), Teresa Rendón, stated that "Los Cabos is no longer just marketed as a tourist destination; it is now a solid option for asset diversification and responsible investment."

Additionally, financial services technology platforms are growing in the region, including property management apps, real estate crowdfunding fintechs , and cross-border payment solutions benefiting temporary residents and expatriates.

The challenge now is to strengthen the legal and technological infrastructure to sustain this growth without losing transparency and legal certainty.

In this regard, the Baja California Sur Notary Association has proposed a complete digitalization of trust registration processes in the Public Property Registry.
