Baja California Sur continues to consolidate a comprehensive security process with the firm goal of protecting its population and restoring citizen confidence in its institutions.

On May 14, an important meeting of the Peace and Security Roundtable was held. High-ranking state and federal officials participated, including the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch; the Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Raymundo Pedro Morales ; and the state governor, Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío .

During the meeting, participants provided a detailed review of the actions implemented in the five municipalities of Baja California Sur and reviewed the results achieved to date. They highlighted the operational coordination between the Ministry of National Defense , the Navy , the Attorney General's Office , and the state and municipal governments, emphasizing that this joint effort has led to the dismantling of criminal groups operating in some critical areas.

According to García Harfuch , "the synergy between the different security forces has been key to reducing crime rates and generating an atmosphere of tranquility in communities that have suffered from insecurity for years."

Admiral Morales , for his part, emphasized the importance of implementing cutting-edge technology in monitoring and surveillance, mentioning the incorporation of drones, surveillance cameras, and facial recognition systems at strategic points throughout the state.

These technological measures will allow not only for faster responses to emergency situations, but also for greater transparency and control in security operations. In the words of Governor Castro Cosío :

"It's not enough to have a police presence; today, security is built on modernizing our tools and coordinating between different levels of government."

In addition, participants agreed to strengthen citizen participation mechanisms through the implementation of digital platforms that allow the community to immediately report incidents and receive real-time responses from authorities.

This initiative, which is part of a long-term strategic plan, also seeks to create an environment of shared responsibility, where every citizen feels an active part in building a safe environment.

During the session, a report was presented on the latest joint operation carried out in high-risk areas, highlighting the arrest of 12 individuals linked to illicit activities, the seizure of weapons, and the confiscation of technology used to disrupt communications systems.

The data showed a 15% decrease in crime rates in the targeted areas, which has generated optimism among authorities and the public.

Finally, the meeting concluded with a commitment to continue integrated security operations, strengthening police training, and optimizing information exchange between agencies.

With these actions, authorities hope to establish Baja California Sur within a new framework of peace and security, allowing its citizens to enjoy a peaceful and protected environment.

This coordinated effort reinforces the idea that security is everyone's responsibility and that, through collaborative work, even the most complex challenges can be overcome.
