The National Electoral Institute (INE) in Baja California Sur has received the first shipment of electoral documents and materials for the Extraordinary Election of various Judicial Branch positions, which is scheduled to take place on June 1st.

This initial shipment includes essential electoral supplies such as ballot boxes, special voting booths, stamps, labels, ballot box covers, ink pads, black stamp ink, blue ink pens, and trash bags, among other items necessary for the efficient operation of polling stations (casillas).

Although not all supplies require military protection, the Secretariat of the Navy (Secretaría de Marina) accompanied the transport in the municipalities of La Paz and Los Cabos to strengthen logistical security.

The materials were transported by sea from the port of Topolobampo, Sinaloa, to Pichilingue, La Paz, and then distributed to District Executive Boards 01 and 02 in La Paz and San José del Cabo.

The official reception at the INE BCS facilities was overseen by electoral officers and council members, who reviewed and secured the materials in preparation for the June 1st electoral day.

According to the National Program for the Distribution of Electoral Documents and Materials for the 2024–2025 Federal Electoral Process, the ballots and other safeguarded materials are expected to arrive in Baja California Sur around May 6th.

The collaboration between the INE and the Navy highlights the importance of ensuring the integrity and security of electoral materials during this extraordinary process.

With these preparations, Baja California Sur is gearing up for an organized and transparent Extraordinary Election, with INE BCS leading the way in electoral logistics.
