Violent clash in Puerto San Carlos leaves seven dead

Last Sunday, May 18, an armed confrontation in the fishing community of Puerto San Carlos , municipality of Comondú , left seven people dead.


According to reports from the Baja California Sur Security Board , private security personnel hired by a fishing cooperative were attacked by armed individuals in the area known as Playa La Curva .


Of the fatalities, three were private security personnel and four belonged to the attacking group. In addition, one person was injured by gunfire.


Authorities launched an operation in the area to find those responsible, although no arrests have been reported so far.


This incident adds to a series of violent incidents that have affected the state in recent weeks, generating concern among the public and authorities.
