The oarfish, known for its elongated body and red fins, lives in deep waters and is rarely seen near the surface.

Its appearance has been associated in various cultures with omens of natural disasters, although there is no scientific evidence to support this belief.

Marine biology specialists have indicated that the presence of this specimen in surface waters could be due to factors such as unusual ocean currents or the animal's disorientation.

The public is advised not to approach or interfere with the fish and to report sightings to the appropriate authorities for further study and protection.

This sighting highlights the richness and diversity of marine fauna in Baja California Sur and underscores the importance of conserving its ecosystems.
