Authorities in Los Cabos reported an 18% decrease in robberies of tourists during the last month, thanks to a joint operation involving the municipal police, the National Guard , and local business owners.

This operation, dubbed "Los Cabos Seguro ," includes reinforced patrols in hotel zones, tourist corridors, and beaches, in addition to the installation of video surveillance cameras at strategic points.

Mayor Guadalupe Saldaña emphasized that the collaboration of the private sector has been key, with more than 50 hotels actively participating in preventive measures.

However, civic associations warn that attention still needs to be paid to working-class neighborhoods, where crime rates remain high.

Authorities reported that they plan to extend the operation model to other tourist areas in the state, including La Paz and Loreto , during the summer, to ensure the safety of national and international visitors.
