This increase in the amount of garbage collected, compared to previous years, is attributed to the greater influx of visitors to the municipality's beaches.

La Paz, BCS. – During the Easter holiday period , from April 18 to 21, more than 38.34 tons of waste were collected on the beaches of La Paz , according to the General Directorate of Sustainability and Waste Management of the City Council.
This increase in the amount of garbage collected, compared to previous years, is attributed to the greater influx of visitors to the municipality's beaches.
As part of the cleanup operation, seven trash containers were installed at different beaches: two at El Tecolote and one each at Pichilingue, El Sonorense, El Saltito, Las Hamacas, and El Comitán. Cleanup operations were also conducted at other beaches, including La Concha, San Juan de la Costa, and El Sargento.
The City Council also implemented the "Route Zero" campaign , which included awareness-raising activities featuring the character "Basurín," specifically aimed at families and children, to encourage responsible waste management and promote the practice of taking generated trash home.
These actions reflect the commitment of the authorities and the community to keeping beaches clean and protecting the environment, especially during peak tourist seasons.
